See you Saturday, November 7, for Week 9 at South Bay Chinese School! Students and teachers brought plenty of school spirit to last week’s Halloween parade. We also took our first school-wide group photo, a chance to see our whole community together on campus.
November 14: Annual Fun Run and Kids Makers’ Market
Join us on Saturday, November 14, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the Peninsula High School softball field. Bring a picnic blanket or chair. Pizza and drinks will be available.
- 11:00 AM: Poster and penmanship awards ceremony
- 11:15 AM: Fun Run
- 11:30 AM: Kids Makers’ Market and open field activities
The school’s fundraising goal is $50 per student to help pay for classroom supplies and cultural performances at our February 2027 Lunar New Year celebration. The event flyer lists Zelle at (310) 780-0222 and Venmo at @SouthbayChineseSchool-SBCCA. With an additional $100 pledge, children can throw a pie at Ghe, our board secretary, as part of the fundraiser.
Makers’ Market applications are due Saturday, November 7. Students can sell their handmade crafts and artwork and keep all their earnings. Read the Makers’ Market guidelines and choose a category and sign up.
Fun Run volunteers: Meet parent association presidents Doris and Jenny by the yellow benches at 9:15 AM on Saturday, November 7.
