See you Saturday, October 24, for Week 7 at South Bay Chinese School! Thank you to everyone who made last Saturday so busy and memorable, with poster submissions, the penmanship competition, and our first cultural classes. Here are this week’s pickup reminders, an important room change, and upcoming events for our school community.
Cultural classes: transitions and pickup reminders
- 10:50 AM: Students have recess and head to their cultural classes. Teaching assistants will guide them, so no separate pickup or drop-off is needed between language and cultural classes.
- 12 PM: Students are dismissed from their cultural classes.
- Children ages 7 and younger: A guardian must go to the classroom to pick up their child.
- Children ages 8 and younger who have not been picked up from the classroom: Students will be guided to the yellow bench area for pickup.
Please remind your child to wait at the yellow bench area or the valet pickup area just outside the school gate. Students should never wander into the parking lot. Other events at Peninsula High School can make the parking lot especially busy.

For both competitions, the top three winners from each age category will advance to the SCCCS (Southern California Council of Chinese Schools) Fall Academic Competition on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 9 AM–12:30 PM at Arcadia High School.
